Overview
Our tour will start at the foot of the Eiffel tower. I will give you the key facts about this historic landmark such as its inception as the centerpiece at the world fair (Exposition Universelle) in 1889. I will take you back to that era and explain the atmosphere and mood taking into account the industrial advancement as well as the controversy, and horror over the look of the Tower by the art world. It was the dawn of a new time revealing the audacity of architecture. I will go over the Tower witnessing and being a major part of important events, both sumptuous and tragic, in France's history. You will see why Paris is a city of contrasts: light and dark, old and new, past and present. Paris is monumental , both due to its size but also its wealth of architectural heritage. We will see how this city has been the source of inspiration for artists and writers, attracting all types of people. I will be available for your questions.
