Your first wine stop is in the village of Vlaški Do at Despotika Winery, a young and welcoming winery known for its modern approach and relaxed atmosphere. In a small-group setting, you’ll have time to enjoy the tasting at an easy pace and get closer to the people behind the wines. The highlight here is Morava, a rare indigenous Serbian white grape grown by only a handful of wineries, giving you the chance to taste something truly local. You’ll also sample Prokupac in both rosé and red styles, offering a well-rounded introduction to Serbia’s signature grape variety.
-
The tour continues to Topola, the heart of the Šumadija wine region. Here you’ll visit the historic royal wine cellar, which once belonged to the Karađorđević royal family, where tradition and winemaking naturally come together. As you walk through the original cellar, you’ll get a feel for how wine was made here decades ago and see an impressive archive preserving bottles from the 1930s. The visit finishes on a relaxed note with a tasting of their modern wines, including Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, offering a nice contrast between past and present.
-
Winery AleksandrovicThe final stop of the day takes you to Aleksandrović Winery, one of Serbia’s leading premium wineries. Here, you’ll discover the connection between this winery and the historic King’s Winery you visited earlier, linking royal heritage with modern Serbian winemaking. After a short introduction and a walk through the cellar, you’ll enjoy a tasting of three selected wines — including Triumph, produced according to the original royal recipe. It’s a fitting finale that brings the story of Šumadija wines full circle, from tradition to today.
-
After completing the wine tastings, you’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch break at a well-regarded local restaurant in Topola. Your guide will help you navigate the menu and suggest food and wine pairings, with plenty of Šumadija wines available if you feel like continuing the tasting at your own pace. Once lunch wraps up, you’ll sit back and enjoy a comfortable return drive to Belgrade — a calm ending to a day filled with wines, stories, and easygoing company.
