Overview
This South Shore Adventure tour is ideal for nature lovers of all kinds. We take you along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country’s most scenic regions, as far as Vík, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs. South Iceland is special for that it is one of the flattest regions on the island. Because of that, most of all grain farming in Iceland is done there. The high mountains to the north, shield the area from the harshest winds from the north.

Our first stop is Skógafoss, famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls walk over to Þórsmörk. The waterfall was also used in the films Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Music video: Justin Bieber.

Vikurfjara Black Sand BeachNext stop Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland. The beach was once rated as one of the 10 most beautiful places in the world and as soon as you put a foot on the beach, you will know why. Basalt columns and the well known Reynisdrangar rock formations awaits you.

VikShort drive to our next stop. Vík í Mýrdal is a remote seafront village in south Iceland. It sits in the shadow of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which covers the Katla volcano. We will explore town and pay a visit to the church where we can enjoy a great view of the coastline. Stop at the famous Skool Beans Cafe Bus.

Solheimajokull GlacierNext stop, Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier coming down the fourth biggest glacier of Iceland, called Mýrdalsjökull. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the ice (one way). We can walk all the way to the glacier or walk halfway and enjoy the view of the glacier and the river.

SeljalandsfossOur last stop will be Seljalandsfoss. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljalandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it.
