Instead, it became a quarantine station for yellow fever cases. Giant Tortoises: The island is famous for its population of Aldabra giant tortoises, originally a gift from the Seychelles. Visitors can interact with and feed these impressive creatures. Coral Reefs: The surrounding waters are known for their vibrant coral reefs, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving.
