Go to the East Court Entrance of Alexandra Palace and you can find us just inside the main doors. Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour time.

Check In: Your tour guide will check you in at The Summit reception desk, within the East Court at Alexandra Palace. You will be briefed on your tour, have time to use the toilet, put your belongings away in the free lockers, and be able to purchase a Summit phone pouch, if you wish to take your phone on the tour.

The Rose Window Balcony: Your adventure begins along the front of Alexandra Palace, taking in the fascinating history of this iconic building alongside sweeping initial views. Next, you'll head up to the breathtaking Rose Window Balcony to admire the London skyline from a brand-new vantage point and discover the story behind the famous window itself. Here, you'll be fitted into your safety harness and equipment by your guide. Once you're fully kitted up, you'll have time to snap a few photos of your own, plus your guide will capture a quick photo of you framed against the spectacular Rose Window Balcony!

The Ascent Step inside and begin your climb via original 1980s internal stairs, enjoying a unique sneak peek into the famous Great Hall—and perhaps catching a glimpse or echo of a live event in progress. You’ll then be safely clipped into our custom-built continuous safety system. Guided step-by-step from the front, your guide will share captivating stories, facts, and figures as the iconic London skyline opens up all around you.

The Summit: After ascending over 170 steps, you’ll reach the absolute peak—standing an incredible 130 metres above sea level directly behind the iconic Angel of Plenty. From this vantage point, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views stretching over 20 miles on a clear day, taking in four counties and 28 of London's 32 boroughs. Spot world-famous historic landmarks including The Shard, St Paul’s Cathedral, Central London, and the London Eye, alongside modern sporting and cultural icons like Wembley Stadium, Emirates Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Canary Wharf. Up at the top, your guide will bring the palace’s rich 150-plus-year history to life—from the birth of modern television to legendary concerts and events. You’ll have plenty of time to take photos, listen to fascinating stories, and have your guide capture unforgettable shots of you with the entire London skyline as your backdrop!

The Descent: As you begin your descent, take in the final breathtaking views and soak up the unique outdoor atmosphere high above the city. It’s the perfect moment to get those last few steps in, snap a final photo, and enjoy the tranquil calm far above the bustling streets below. Depending on your tour time, you’ll watch the last light of the sunset fade as the London skyline lights up in spectacular style. You’ll then head back down to the Rose Window Balcony to unclip, de-kit, and savor one last look across the capital before completing your journey.

The Finish & Beyond: Head back into the East Court to complete your tour. Here, you can view your official photos with the option to purchase your favourites, retrieve your belongings from the lockers, and hand back any borrowed equipment.
