Agra FortAgra Fort is a massive red sandstone fortress located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Built primarily by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1565, the fort served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors for several generations before the capital was shifted to Delhi. The fort is surrounded by high walls and a deep moat, giving it a strong military character, yet inside it contains elegant palaces, mosques, and courtyards. Notable structures within the fort include Jahangiri Mahal, Khas Mahal, Diwan-i-Am (Hall of Public Audience), Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), and the beautiful Moti Masjid (Pearl Mosque). Many buildings combine Islamic, Persian, and Hindu architectural styles, reflecting the cultural richness of the Mughal era. Agra Fort is also historically significant because Emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal, was imprisoned here by his son Aurangzeb and spent his last years gazing at the Taj Mahal from the fort.

Itmad-ud-DaulaThe Baby Taj, officially known as the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, is a beautiful Mughal monument located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. It was built between 1622 and 1628 by Nur Jahan, the wife of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, in memory of her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg, who was given the title Itimad-ud-Daulah (Pillar of the State). Often called the “draft of the Taj Mahal,” the Baby Taj is considered a turning point in Mughal architecture. Unlike earlier monuments made of red sandstone, this tomb is constructed entirely of white marble, giving it a delicate and elegant appearance. The monument is richly decorated with pietra dura inlay work, featuring floral designs made from semi-precious stones such as jasper, onyx, and lapis lazuli.
