We meet you at the port , drive you to visit one of Rotorua’s most famous and undeniably the most colourful geothermal site - the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. Colourful and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of geothermal activity.
You get to Marvel at geothermal wonders such as steaming volcanic vents, boiling mud ponds and natural hot pools in an otherworldly range of colors.
If time permits you will catch the daily eruption of Lady Knox geyser.
Drive time from port of Tauranga to Rotoura is approx. 1.5hrs each way , and we will travel different routes so you get to see as much of this area as is possible with the time you have available.
You will have opportunity to soak your feet in a warm foot spa of geothermal waters - known for its healing properties and abundance of minerals.

Disembark your ship,walk along the dock, to the pedestrian exit security gate. We will be standing outside the exit on the grass underneath a flag pole with a sign board with your names on. We will be in uniform of black trousers / white shirts / orange lanyards and signed with our company logo.

Wai-O-Tapu Thermal WonderlandAfter your private guide meets you at the dock in Tauranga, enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour drive to the Wai-O-Tapu geothermal region, home to some of New Zealand's most colourful and spectacular geothermal landmarks. Prior to the eruption of the Tarawera Volcano in 1886, Wai-O-Tapu was famous for a natural feature known as the Pink and White Terraces. Some called them the 8th Wonder of The World. The eruption destroyed the terraces and created today’s landscape of steaming hot springs, bubbling geysers and pools of vibrant turquoise, orange, gold and olive-green water. The Champagne Pool is underniably the centrepiece of the park. Depending on the time of your ships arrival - You might catch the daily eruption of the Lady Knox geyser. This happens at 10.15 daily. Wai-O-Tapu has 3 walking tracks - from easy to moderate - you choose any or all of these walks - from the easy walk which lasts 40 minutes to the three which takes approx 75 minutes.

Kuirau ParkEnroute back to port of Tauranga we will stop at another geothermal park so that you can soak your feet in a geothermal foot spa. The temperature of the water is adequate to soak your feet.
- Enroute from Rotorua to port of Tauranga we will pass through Tauranga city and traverse the harbour bridge (pass by)
- After passing over the harbour bridge we will transport you around the waterfront of Mount Maunganui seaside resort - before dropping you back at your cruise ship. (pass by)
- Worry-free Shore Excursion: We will Guarantee your timely return to the Tauranga port for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of call.
