Overview
Go beyond the show & experience all that Argentine Tango truly is. This local version of ‘dinner & dancing’ makes a great counterpart to the traditional tango dinner show ;)
We start wth a pickup around 8pm, depending on the day. First, at a historical café notable, we’ll enjoy traditional Argentine fare, including Picada (ie, charcuterie), Tortilla (the local version of frittata), & perhaps a glass of the country’s most famous export - Malbec. While enjoying all the tastes, you’ll learn the history & culture of tango.
Then we’re off to a nearby Milonga (tango dance hall) where we can relax comfortably & enjoy the scene. We’ll do our best to take you to where there is also a show - either a live orchestra or a short tango dance performance. Please keep in mind that these shows often don’t start until 10pm or later. Return transportation is included.

We start with a pickup of around 8pm, depending on the day, with our first stop at a ‘cafe notable’ (historical cafe/bar) . Here we’ll enjoy some traditional Argentine fare, including: - Picada (charcuterie - all cafe notables have a wide variety of plates to choose from) - Tortilla (this version of the frittata is originally an import of the Spanish immigrants) - Salad -to say we're 'eating healthy' :) - Perhaps a glass of the country’s most famous export - Malbec. Note: Food from the picada, tortilla, small plates, & salad menu, plus 1 drink at the cafe notable are included in the tour price. While enjoying all the tastes, you’ll learn the history & culture of tango: from its beginnings when early Eurpoean immigrants first arrived here - to its peak in the 40s when tango orchestras played as far as Hollywood - to going underground in the 70’s due to politics - to tango now, a blend of traditonal & ‘nuevo’ styles, as dancers from abroad influence Argentina’s signature dance

Then we’re off to a nearby Milonga (tango dance hall) where we can relax comfortably & enjoy the scene. The dance is just one aspect of tango culture, albeit an extremely beautiful one. The music, the culture, & the social etiquette are all fascinating to experience while inside the milonga. We’ll make every effort to take you to where there is also a show - either a live orquestra or a short tango dance performance. Please keep in mind that these shows often don’t start until around 11pm. We will be choosing from a short list of high quality Milongas that will give you a very good sense of the beautiful tradition of Tango. Which one we go to will depend on on the day, as the Milonga schedule varies day to day. Then we'll transport you back to your abode, where you can relive the memories of this remarkable night!
