Overview
Channel the legendary artist and architect Antoni Gaudí during this fun, family-friendly mosiac workshop. Over the course of 2 hours, you will learn the mosiac technique "trencadis," which he invented and can be found all over Barcelona.
In the early 20th-century every time it rained in Barcelona the streets would fill with mud. To solve this problem the streets were paved with the Panot, an easy-to-maintain hydraulic tile. Today, the Panot is one of the most emblematic symbols of the Catalan capital. You can choose ceramic to create a unique flower in Gaudís technique.
Diploma accredited for Excellence "Mestre Artesà divulgatiu" (Master craftsman diploma) in work and divulgation of this Art, awarded by the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya at the Palau of Generalitat in Barcelona to the owner, Angelika Heinbach.In 2019 collaboration of Casa Batlló in the frame of the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers project “The Restoration of Casa Batlló, from inside to beyond its walls”

This mosaic workshop is where you are going to do the mosaic workshop and learn the mosaic technique of Antonio Gaudí. You will experience being Gaudí for 2 hours.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Barcelona was known as “can Fanga” —the
“house of mud”— since every time it rained, the streets would fill with mud.
To solve this problem in the Eixample, the new neighborhood that emerged after
the demolition of the city walls, the streets were paved with the Panot, a durable
and easy-to-maintain hydraulic tile. Its design organized the urban landscape and forever transformed the appearance of the city. Today, the Panot is one of the most emblematic symbols of the Catalan capital.
You should take into account that the artwork produced by the end of the workshop will have to be grouted by staff. Usually, the artwork can be picked up later on in the afternoon or the next morning if the workshop has taken place in the afternoon.
Your experience is also sustainable and awarded with the BIOSPHERE certification 2024.
