We will enjoy beautiful views of the River Thames throughout the trip and will also cross under it, using the Thames Tunnel, built between 1825 and 1843 by Marc Brunel and his son Isambard. This remarkable feat of engineering was the first tunnel of its kind under a navigable river. Today, the tunnel is part of the East London Line on the London Underground.

  • Execution Dock - actual location
Visit the spot where many pirates met their grisly fates, including Captain Kidd, who inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write Treasure Island
  • A very traditional pub with a beautiful riverside garden. There has been a pub on this site since the 1460s, although the current establishment was founded in 1545. This was where the notorious Judge Jeffries, responsible for the Bloody Assizes, was caught as he attempted to flee the country in 1688
