Overview

Learn a whole new way to enjoy Wagyu beef, understand the culture behind it, and eat until you're genuinely full. A5-grade Wagyu beef — the top of Japan's scale — at a price that makes no sense anywhere else.

The heart of this tour isn't just the beef. It's how you eat it. You'll taste five different wagyu preparations, several of which exist nowhere outside Japan — sukiyaki-style, lightly seared, grilled over flame, or dipped into a fresh raw egg the way locals do it.

Your guide reads the table and suggests new ways to enjoy each dish, matched to your taste. Bold or familiar, it's your call.

We visit hole-in-the-wall establishments: real places tourists rarely find, chosen for substance over flash. Real wagyu, in the right places, eaten your way.

Quiet, generous, and unforgettable. Family-friendly, and you will leave full.

  • Shinjuku
Your guide meets you in Shinjuku, one of Tokyo's most electric neighborhoods, and the tour begins on foot. Before any beef touches the grill, you'll get your bearings — neon towers on one side, narrow lantern-lit alleys on the other, all packed into a few blocks. As you walk, your guide explains what makes Shinjuku tick: how it became Tokyo's nightlife capital, why locals and salarymen fill these streets after dark, and how to tell a tourist trap from a place worth entering. This is also where you'll learn the basics of wagyu — what A5 actually means, why Japanese beef is graded the way it is, and what to look for once the food arrives. Short walk, no rush. By the time you sit down, you'll know exactly what you're about to eat and why it matters.
  • Kabukicho
The first restaurant is where the tour earns its name. Here you'll meet A5 wagyu — the top grade in Japan's system — prepared in ways that simply don't exist outside this country. Sukiyaki-style, sweet and savory. Lightly seared, so the fat begins to melt but the center stays tender. Dipped into fresh raw egg, the way locals have eaten it for generations. Each preparation changes the texture and flavor completely, and your guide will suggest which order to try them in based on your taste. There's a performance element too — some of the preparation happens right in front of you, and it's worth putting the phone down for. Japanese beer and sake pair beautifully with the richness. Your guide will recommend what works with which cut. This is the moment most guests say the tour paid for itself.
  • Shinjuku 3 Chome
Next, your guide leads you into Shinjuku 3-chome — a warren of drinking alleys most visitors walk right past. Locals know it well. Tourists rarely find it. Tucked inside is a long-standing yakiniku restaurant, loud and full, exactly the kind of place you'd never wander into alone. Here the wagyu comes as a generous grilled assortment, and the portions are serious. This is the stop where "eat till you're full" stops being a marketing phrase. You grill it yourself over the flame, at your own pace, and your guide shows you the timing — which cuts need seconds, which need a little patience. Your first drink is included. Tell your guide what you like and they'll pick a Japanese drink to match, whether that's a crisp beer, a highball, or something you've never tried.
  • Shinjuku Golden Gai
Full? Good. There's still one thing left. The tour ends at Shinjuku's most beloved taiyaki shop — the fish-shaped pastry that Japanese kids grow up on and adults never really outgrow. Even late at night, there's a crowd, which tells you everything. Choose your filling: classic sweet red bean, earthy matcha, or rich custard cream. Each one is pressed and cooked fresh, crisp at the edges and soft in the middle. It's the perfect counterpoint to an evening of rich, savory beef — light, warm, and just sweet enough to close things out. Kids love this stop. So does everyone else, once they take a bite. From here, your guide will point you toward the nearest station or the best spot to keep the night going, depending on how you're feeling.
