Daikoku Parking AreaThe Daikoku Parking Area in Daikoku Futo, Yokohama, is one of these places, and it's known as one of the most famous car meet spots in the world. It has long been well known in Japan for its rich history. Its fame overseas, though, came from social media and passion projects that went viral over the years.
- The Rainbow Bridge's lighting was designed with the city's appearance in mind. The goals were to make the area safer, to make its evenings and public spaces more usable, and to give Tokyo's forward-looking Waterfront Subcenter a signature landmark. The lights are electrodeless lamps, which last a long time, use little energy and shine very brightly. It was also the first bridge in the world to use three-color lighting. It sits in front of the Hachikō Exit of Shibuya Station. The lights stop vehicles in every direction at once, giving pedestrians 55 seconds to cross safely. Between the station and the crossing stands the statue of Hachikō the dog, a popular meeting spot that's almost always crowded.
