Overview
Walk through two worlds in one tour — Harajuku and Meiji Jingu. We begin in Harajuku’s famous Takeshita Street, where today’s youth culture shows itself through colorful fashion and sweet treats. Just a few minutes later, it feels like you’ve jumped back in time. Passing through towering wooden gates, we enter the vast forest of Meiji Jingu Shrine, built in 1920 to honor Emperor Meiji.
Along the way, we’ll also explore Omotesando, an avenue inspired by European style, and talk about how Western influence reshaped Tokyo in the Meiji era. From modern pop culture to imperial traditions, this walk reveals how Tokyo lives in both the present and the past at the same time.
Taste and browse your way through Takeshita Street’s fashion and food scene
Walk Omotesando Avenue and hear the story of Japan’s shift toward the West
Pass through massive torii gates into the forest of Meiji Jingu Shrine
Hear stories of Emperor Meiji, Shinto rituals, and cultural traditions from your guide
