Torrent de Pareís Gorge adventure
Overview
Discover Torrent de Pareís Gorge, a spectacular natural wonder you should see while you're in Mallorca.
A 3-kilometre dry canyon with 200-meter high vertical walls, formed by the erosive forces of water over millions of years, Torrent de Pareís cuts through the rugged Tramuntana mountain range. The sheer magnitude of the vertical walls and the ruggedness of the cliffs will leave you in awe.
You'll embark on an exhilarating journey starting at Sa Calobra. The guide will drive you through the windy road, a 30-minute ride up to the village of Escorca. After a short briefing about the activity and its risks, you'll start your adventure via a challenging hiking trail that accesses the canyon. Once at the bottom of Torrent of Lluc (one of the 2 streams that form the Torrent de Pareís Gorge), the journey continues through the blocks, and from S’Entrefoc, where the two streams meet, starts descending. You'll navigate through narrow passages, scramble over boulders, and wade through shallow pools of water, making the hike even more exciting.
The journey through the canyon is not for the faint-hearted, but it rewards the hikers with stunning views of the towering cliffs and the wild beauty of Mallorca's landscape. After approximately five hours inside the channel, characterized by limestone cliffs that rise dramatically on either side, the journey ends at the beach of Sa Calobra, a picturesque coastal village located on the northwest coast of Mallorca.
