River Cruises Collection: Tour of The High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple in Aswan
Overview
You’ll tick off a trio of Aswan’s top attractions on this trip. First up’s the Aswan High Dam. It was built in the 1960s to stop the Nile from flooding every year, and it also formed Lake Nasser – the world’s largest artificial lake. You’ll also visit the Unfinished Obelisk, which was undiscovered for thousands of years, and gives an insight into the ancient Egyptians’ stonemasonry skills. And last but not least, you’ll get to hop on a traditional motorboat and head to the island of Philae, where you’ll have a tour of its temple. There’ll be a certified Egyptologist with you for the whole tour, so you can find out more about all the sights and ask questions.
