You’ll visit two of Egypt’s best-kept temples on this full-day tour, which starts with a trip to Abydos. You’ll be given water, juice and freshly made snacks on the journey, which takes you through lots of traditional villages and past some of the country’s lesser-seen spots, before you hop off the coach and visit the first temple. Built from white limestone over three levels, the main temple in Abydos is in remarkable condition, and it’s distinctive for having seven separate chambers inside, all dedicated to different gods. Once you’ve had a good look around, you’ll head off to the second temple of the day, Dendera. This sprawling complex covers a whopping area of around 40,000 square metres, with the almost-intact Hathor Temple at the heart of it. Named after one of the most prominent Egyptian goddesses, it’s said that her temple stands on the edge of the desert as if it’s awaiting her return.
