The Pyramids Of GizaThe three most important pyramids The three main pyramids of Giza are Cheops, Khafre and Mycerinus. In addition to these there are many other smaller pyramids. Cheops: Also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza, Cheops (Jufu) is the largest pyramid, as well as the most important of all. It has a height of 140 meters and stands on a huge base of 230 meters (almost 1 kilometer in perimeter). Khafre: The Pyramid of Khafre is the second largest in Egypt behind that of Cheops. Currently it is the only one of the pyramids that still retains a small part of its ancient white limestone coating on the top. Mycerinos: The Pyramid of Mycerinos is the smallest of the group, but no less interesting for that reason. It has a height of 66 meters and its base is just over 100 meters on each side.
