Overview
Mountain clothing is necessary for this activity, and rental options are available if you do not have the appropriate attire. The hike begins at the trail's parking lot, leading us deep into the forest.
- 🗺️ The trail takes us close to a beaver dam and crosses the valley until reaching a peat bog.
- 🌊 Following the Esmeralda river, we will hike to its source in the Esmeralda lagoon.
- ❄️ The lagoon is frozen in winter and showcases stunning colors during summer.
- 🍽️ Lunch by the lagoon offers breathtaking views of the Albino glacier, weather permitting.
- 🚶♂️ After our visit, we will return via the same trail to the transfer back to your hotel.

Laguna EsmeraldaEnter the Fuegian forest - The trek begins among native lenga trees. Your guide will introduce you to the characteristic vegetation and landscapes of Tierra del Fuego.

Laguna EsmeraldaCross peatlands and valleys - The trail continues through peatland areas and open valleys. The terrain changes as we progress, creating a constantly changing landscape.

Laguna EsmeraldaFollow the Esmeralda River - We continue toward the lagoon following the natural valley and the Esmeralda River. The mountains become increasingly prominent as we approach our destination.

Laguna EsmeraldaAfter approximately 5 km of hiking, we reach Laguna Esmeralda. Depending on the season, the lagoon may appear as a deep emerald-colored body of water, partially frozen or completely covered by snow and ice. We will have time to enjoy the scenery, take photographs and relax.

Laguna EsmeraldaLunch at the lagoon - We enjoy our box lunch and a hot drink before beginning the return hike.

Return to Ushuaia - We return along the trail to the starting point, where our transportation will take us back to Ushuaia.
