RovaniemiYou will be taken on a northern lights hunt with a professional photographer in a spacious van. (Comfort is important for road trips, as we travel at least 50 km—but usually around 120 km one way—to find the darkest spot.) A delicious Finnish Sandwich and berry tea are on the menu for the night to satisfy your hunger. Since our priority is finding a clear spot for the northern lights, we don’t set up a barbecue for unnecessary sausages. Based heavily on cloud coverage and solar wind data, you may visit 2 to 3 different viewpoints from the 100 we have mapped, discovered all across Finnish and Swedish Lapland. Some say it’s a nice road trip; others call it a true northern lights hunt. Due to weather conditions, we always send an information email to our guests by 13:00 at the latest on the day of the tour. Sometimes, we may need to depart 1 hour earlier or later to find better weather. Our tours usually start between 18:30 and 19:00 and end around 01:00 to 03:00.
If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
