  • Faro Mazatlan
The light house built in 1879 is located at the southern tip of the city and it is one of the most emblematic attractions of Mazatlan. We will drive by and offer you the option to climb up to the top which is 500 feet above sea level. The views are spectacular. You will be able to see the entire city and the Sierra Madre mountains in the background. There are lots of opportunities to take beautiful pictures along the way up. There is also a glass floor bridge that extends out from the side of the hill. It is recommended to take bottled water and a small towel to freshen up due to the warm weather. We will continue driving along the Bay Area towards the Olas Altas neighborhood making a couple stops at lookout points for picture taking. The driver will provide basic historical information and answer any questions if requested.
  • Playa Olas Altas
As we continue driving along Paseo del Centenario, we will soon come across the oldest beach front hotels better known as Olas Altas which happens to be one of the tourists and locals favorites. It is filled with history that they tend to enjoy from coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Here you have the option of either taking a short walking-tour or continue riding through the historical center. Take a nice photo of Carpa Olivera which is literally a salt water pool in the ocean built in 1914. See the waves refilling the pool as they roll in. Continue along the Angel Flores Street and its colorful houses, which is one of the most remarkable and photographed streets in Olas Altas.
  • Punta de Clavadistas
Mazatlan has its own diving tradition centered in a small ocean side park on the Malecon. Divers jump from a 50ft high platform into water that is just 5 or 6ft deep. The tradition of Cliff diving in Mazatlan dates from the mid 1900’s when the platform was constructed on the Malecon.
  • Plaza Machado
This townsquare was built in 1837 by a rich Philippino business man named Juan Nepomuceno Machado to reflect the wealth of the area of that time. Plaza Machado is surrounded by beautiful palm trees and gardens, restaurants, bars and shops that preserve the classic infrastructure. While strolling along the plaza, admire the famous Angela Peralta Theatre located just beside the square. The theatre was rebuilt in 1993 after suffering a dramatic story filled with hurricanes, floods and a near demolish.
  • Catedral Mazatlan Basilica de la Inmaculada Concepcion
The Mazatlan Cathedral is a gorgeous Barroque and Gothic-style church located in the downtown área. The construction started in 1856 and finished until 1899. The inside of the church is uniquely ornate with chandeliers, marble, wood and gold. An interesting fact about its history is that the Jewish Community actually stepped in and funded the completion of the church and in turn had the Star of David put into 28 stained-glass windows. Across the Street from the Cathedral is the Plaza Republica townsquare which is surrounded by trees, palm trees and beautiful gardens.
  • Mercado Pino Suarez
This market has been in operation since 1899. Both locals and tourists come every day for grocery shopping and souvenirs. Here you will have 30 minutes of free time to wander around or do souvenir shopping. Stop by Panama Bakery to get some fresh bakery ítems, cakes, pies, and treats.
  • Malecon de Mazatlan
The Malecon is similar to a pier or a boardwalk along the coast line of the city, being around 20km in total distance. It starts in the south end of Olas Altas beach and goes all the way up to Valentino’s night club by the Golden Zone. It is considered the 2nd longest beachfront walkway in the world and the main stage for many of Mazatlan’s events, like Carnival. There are lots of things to see along the Malecon, all at different spots. You will see many fountains, monuments, attractions and photo opportunities.
  • Golden Zone
Visit the Seashell City Museum which has been open since 1979 that offers an extensive collection of various seashells of all kinds, sizes and shapes. There is a huge variety of business and activities in this area, where you can find souvenirs, restaurants, jewelry shops, bars, markets and the Playa Gaviotas beach area. Here you will have the option to wander around to explore the area and have lunch at a good restaurant or spend some time at Playa Gaviotas beach before heading back to the ship.
