Valley Temple of KhafreHere at the Valley Temple, I’ll show you one of the oldest and best-preserved temples in Egypt. As we walk inside, you’ll notice the huge limestone walls covered with smooth granite brought all the way from Aswan. I’ll point out the original granite floor, which is still in place after more than 4,500 years, and explain how this temple was used during the king’s funeral rituals before his burial. You’ll also see the sockets where 23 statues of King Khafre once stood, and I’ll help you imagine how magnificent the temple looked when it was complete. Finally, we’ll stop at one of the best viewpoints to take great photos and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before continuing to the Great Sphinx.
