  • Humayun's Tomb
You will be picked up from fixed point / hotel leave for sightseeing. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the tomb was built in 1570 and is the first garden tomb of the Indian subcontinent. The tomb was commissioned by Empress Bega Begum for her husband, the Mughal Emperor Humayun.Besides Humayun, over 150 later day Mughals are also buried here. The tomb complex combines Persian and Turkish styles of architecture. Situated within the grounds of Humayun’s tomb is another architectural marvel, Isa Khan’s tomb. It is the tomb of Isa Khan Niyazi, an influential nobleman in the court of Sher Shah Suri. The tomb dates back to the 16th century. There is a mosque as well situated in the grounds of the octagonal tomb complex. Notable thing is that the tomb was built in the lifetime of Isa Khan. The octagonal tomb is embellished with canopies and glazed tiles. There are lattice screens in a deep verandah supported by pillars.
  • Khan-i-Khanan Tomb
Next visit the tomb of Khan-i-Khanan. Abdul Rahim Khan-i-Khana, also known as Rahim, was one of the nine ministers (Navratnas) in the court of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Rahim is known for his Urdu couplets and his books on astronomy. He built the tomb for his wife in 1598 and was later buried next to her in 1627.
  • Safdarjung Tomb
The last stop on the itinerary is the tomb of Safdarjung. It is a beautiful garden tomb built for Safdarjung by his son, Nawab Shuja-ud-daula, the Nawab of Awadh in 1754. It is the last garden tomb from the Mughal era. The tomb was designed by an Ethiopian architect and is built along the lines of the nearby Humayun’s tomb. Red and yellow sandstone have been used to build the tomb which is placed on an elevated platform. The two-storied entrance gate of the mausoleum gives an excellent view of the monument. Rococo plaster is used for the interior of the tomb. Once your tour will be finished you will be driven back to fixed point / your hotel.
