3-day trip to Hue, Vinh Moc and Paradise Cave from Da Nang
Overview
Discover the highlights of Vietnam's Quang Tri Province on a 3-day trip from Da Nang. Delve deep into wartime memories by visiting the Vinh Moc Tunnels and other battle sites in the area, explore the longest dry cave in Asia and admire Hue's main attraction, the Citadel.
On the first day, you will stop at a number of different battle sites: Quang Tri Citadel, Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge and Seventeenth Parallel - the former borderline between North and South Vietnam. In the afternoon, visit the cramped Vinh Moc Tunnels where North Vietnamese guerilla fighters lived with their families to shelter from intense bombings during the war. Stay overnight in Quang Binh.
The next day, explore the 31-kilometer-long Paradise Cave, the longest dry cave in Asia. After passing through an ancient forest, you'll see the entrance to the cave shaded by century-old trees and then be dazzled by the mysterious beauty of white crystal stalactites naturally formed over millions of years, giving the impression of an enchanted kingdom. After that, continue to Hue where you'll spend the night.
Start your last day with a hearty breakfast before visiting the many treasures Hue has to offer, including Thien Mu Pagoda, infamous for the monk who set himself on fire for political protest, Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, the vibrant Dong Ba Market and the Imperial Citadel, which encloses the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City and the Emperor's Private Residence.
