Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam)The important feature Wat Lokayasutharam is a huge reclining Buddha image, called Phra Bhuddhasaiyart, which faces to the east. It was constructed of bricks and cement in the art style cf the Middle Ayutthaya Period. It is 37 meters long and 8 meters high. There are other impressive Reclining Buddha Images in Ayutthaya, but this seems to be the largest.

Wat Ratchaburana (Temple of the Royal Restoration)In 1957 the crypt of the Wat Ratchaburana was looted and many precious artifacts as votive tablets, golden Royal regalia, gems and Buddha images were stolen. The thieves were caught and some of the treasures were recovered. A year later the Fine Arts Department started excavation and restoration of the temple. Chao Sam Phraya National MuseumThe museum is named after Chao Sam Phraya, King of Ayutthaya in the 15th century. Exhibited are several thousand items including Buddha images, votive tablets, gold artifacts and other treasures recovered from the crypts of several temples.

Wat ChaiwatthanaramWat Chaiwatthanaram was constructed in 1630 by King Prasat Thong. It was one of the grandest monuments of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. The King built the temple as a means to gain Buddhist merit and as a memorial to his mother. Her ashes are enshrined in two square chedis flanking the ubosot on the East side of the temple.
