Chennakeshava and Hoysaleshwara temples day tour from Bengaluru
Overview
Your tour will start early in the morning at 06:30am to explore two of the most prominent temple of Karanataka - Chennakeshava Temple at Belur and Hoysaleshwara Temple at Halebidu. The construction of Chennakeshava temple started in 1116 AD and took 103 years to be completed. The magnificent shrine is dedicated to lord Vijayanarayana, one of the 24incarnations of Vishnu, built to commemorates the victory of hoysalas over Cholas in the great battle of Talakkad. Some also believe that it was constructed when Vishnuvardhana adopted Vaishnvism under the influence of the great guru Sri Ramanujacharya.
After lunch at a local restaurant (Basic neat & clean), you'll proceed to Hoysaleshwara temple. It was built by King Vishnuvardhana over a period of 30 years between 1120 – 1150 CE. The temple has numerous miniature shrines at the entrance and meshes or Jaali’s called Vyatayanas on the walls to allow the breeze to flow in.
You'll then return to your hotel in Bengaluru.
