Bibliotheque de CelsusCelsus Library is one of the most beautiful structures in Ephesus. Celcius Library was built in 117 A.D. Celsus Library was a monumental tomb for Gaius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, the governor of the province of Asia; from his son Galius Julius Aquila. The grave of Celsus was beneath the ground floor, across the entrance and there was a statue of Athena over it. Because Athena was the goddess of the wisdom.

The OdeionThe Odeion of Ancient Ephesus was financed by a wealthy citizen named Vedius Antonius. It has a semi-circular shape, just like a small theatre. It had gradines divided into diazomas and two corridors on each side let people access the higher seats. There was also an orchestra and a podium.

Ephesus Terrace HousesThe Terrace Houses in Ephesus consists of luxurious residential houses, next to Curetes Street and opposite the Temple of Hadrian. Three terraces were established around 200 BC on the slope of the latter Terrace Houses, by using massive stone walls. On the northernmost terrace, a representative dwelling house was already built in the 1st century BS, whereas on the other ones a handicraft quarter developed. In the course of the erection of the Roman Dwelling Units, the Hellenistic constructions were demolished and leveled. Please note that this attraction visit is optional.
