In the series, it stands in as the Duke of Sandringham’s lavish residence, with its grand interiors offering a glimpse into 17th-century aristocratic life. The estate’s expansive grounds are featured in several scenes, including the iconic courtyard where Jamie’s ambush on Sandringham takes place. With sweeping views of the River Forth and beautifully maintained gardens, Hopetoun House is a captivating fusion of history and cinematic allure. The tour includes the entrance fee to the grounds, you can choose to upgrade this to tour the house. If Hopetoun House is closed for a private event or seasonal closure (27 September 2026–spring 2027), we’ll visit Blackness Castle instead.
