The experience offers several options, check yours above
  • Personal meeting service at your accommodation (or cruise port terminal, or other agreed location) within the city of Buenos Aires
  • 7 hour private walking tour just for you
  • Any transport needed to get to the start of the walking tour from there (usually by taxi/s with your guide, or private hired transport, but sometimes either on foot or by public transport if that makes more sense for your tour). This travel time is in addition to your tour time.
  • The cost of any public transport needed during your tour (e.g. local bus or subway)
  • Gratuities (which are voluntary and completely up to you)
  • Pick-up or drop-off at EZE or AEP airports (although these can sometimes be arranged in coordination with your tour, if there is availability, at extra cost)
  • The cost of any entrance fees during the tour (i.e. to enter a museum or other ticketed attraction). This is not a common occurrence for our tours, but if needed, such fees in Buenos Aires are usually low
  • Any taxis that you decide to take during or after the tour (unless, in the latter case, you have paid for the "transport back" service)
  • Any food or drink that you decide to consume during the tour (i.e. during the cafe / lunch break)

  • San Telmo
Back in the day, San Telmo was home to the city’s richest and most important families. But yellow fever epidemics forced them to move north/west to the then outskirts of the city (now Recoleta & Retiro) and San Telmo began to fall from grace. Artists & the working class soon moved into the vacated properties, converting the barrio into what it is now known for: a bohemian hive for antiques, tango, cafes, bars, & restaurants, as well as the must-visit San Telmo Street Market every Sunday.
  • Plaza de Mayo
The historical, political, cultural, religious and economic hub of Argentina. Military coups, massive protests, financial crises, independence heroes, Peron, Evita, Maradona, the Pope and more... Plaza de Mayo hides story after story and cannot be fully appreciated without a knowledgeable guide. Near here we will have a relaxed break at a cafe of historical and/or cultural value, a great place to take stock and ask your guide all of your burning questions about BA!
  • Plaza General San Martin
Our favorite park-plaza in Buenos Aires, surrounded by ornate former family mansion-homes, stunning architecture, historical monuments, and beautiful trees. Home to the monument to independence hero General San Martin, South America's first skyscraper, the "British Tower" and British-built Retiro train station, the Malvinas/Falklands memorial, and more!
  • Avenida 9 De Julio
The "widest avenue in the world", Avenida 9 de Julio, home to the famous Buenos Aires Obelisk.
  • Recoleta
Recoleta, the most prestigious traditional neighborhood, full of grand old mansions and high class establishments, where we’ll stroll along the elegant and upscale Avenida Alvear and into Plaza Francia, the heart of Recoleta. Here you will have lunch at a traditional Argentine restaurant with your guide – a place where locals eat, with a choice of dishes to cover all tastes (your food/drink at your additional cost on the day).
  • La Recoleta Cemetery
The highlight of our tours for many: Recoleta Cemetery, the last resting place of Eva Peron and many other rich & famous Argentines, plus the highest concentration of stunning architecture in the whole city. A veritable city of the dead, full of fascinating stories and macabre views, there really is nowhere else on the planet quite like it. Admission costs approx. US$15 per person.

  • Some cash (pesos or USD) for any cafe or lunch stops, and a credit/debit card just in case you need more money for anything during the day
  • For most of the year you should consider sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat etc
  • If rain looks possible, dress appropriately and ask your hotel to borrow an umbrella (or if not possible, ask your guide directly by calling in advance, regarding bringing spare umbrellas)
