Overview
A private day trip from Sarajevo to Travnik and Jajce, two old Bosnian capitals about an hour and a half apart. In Travnik you walk up to the fortress, see the Colourful Mosque with its painted walls and pass the house where the writer Ivo Andrić was born.
After lunch you drive on to Jajce, the seat of the last Bosnian kings. Your tour leader takes you up through the old town to the fortress, the catacombs and St Luke's bell tower, then down to the Pliva Waterfall, which drops about 20 metres right in the middle of town. If time allows, the last stop is the row of wooden watermills on the Pliva Lakes.
The car is yours for the day, and your driver is also your tour leader. A licensed local guide can be added in Travnik and in Jajce for EUR 50 per group each. We leave at 9:00 from your hotel or from Sarajevo City Hall and are back around 20:00.
