Admired then for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site The site opens at 6am and you can enter any time (free entry fees if you have the Jordan Pass). You will walk with you through the winding Siq to the famous Treasury, past the Street of facades and rock cut theatre. Then you have free time to perhaps climb up to the High Place of Sacrifice, or visit the Royal Tombs. If you have enough energy then climb the 800 steps to the Monastery.
