KhinalugLocated at an altitude of 2,450 metres above sea level, 57 kilometres from the district centre, Khinalig is considered one of the highest mountain villages not only in Azerbaijan but also in Europe. This area, included by UNESCO in the list of World Heritage Sites, is compared to an open-air museum. Khinalig, called "Island among mountains", is located 65 km from the district centre. Built of cobblestones and arranged along the slope, the houses resemble a multi-storey building. .
