Meet your skipper at the Lake Hāwea boat ramp at The Camp and board our comfortable fishing boat for a three-hour small-group fishing experience on Lake Hāwea. After a short safety briefing and introduction to the fishing gear, we’ll head out onto the lake and choose the best areas to fish based on the conditions.
Target rainbow trout, brown trout and salmon using techniques such as trolling and downrigging, with all fishing equipment provided. No previous fishing experience is needed, your skipper will help beginners every step of the way, while experienced anglers are welcome to get more involved and talk fishing techniques and the local fishery.
Once fishing, we use our fully electric trolling motor, meaning no engine noise while we fish. Between bites, enjoy Lake Hāwea’s clear alpine water, dramatic mountain scenery, locally sourced treats and cold drinks on board.
If you catch a legal fish you’d like to keep, we can clean and vacuum-pack it for you to take away. Catch-and-release is also welcome. After approximately three hours, we’ll return to the Lake Hāwea boat ramp.
