At Studio Fooraku, just a 30-second walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station in Kyoto, you will experience traditional Japanese ikebana based on the fundamental forms of the Sogetsu School.

We will begin with an introduction to ikebana's history, philosophy, basic forms, and techniques. You will also learn tips for keeping flowers fresh and enjoying ikebana at home without special tools or traditional containers.

With my personal guidance throughout the creative process, you will create your own arrangement, exploring balance, proportion, and space while discovering Japanese aesthetics and an appreciation of nature and the changing seasons.

Once your arrangement is complete, we will take photos of your work. You may also take home the flowers and branches used during the session.

At the end, we will enjoy a relaxed conversation. Feel free to ask about Japanese culture, traditions, or everyday life. I also enjoy learning about my guests' cultures and experiences.
