While many kings are interred in the valley, the most famous is undoubtedly King Tutankhamun.
-
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el BahariNext, continue your journey to the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as Deir el-Bahari. Queen Hatshepsut, whose name means "Foremost of Noble Ladies," is believed to have established the first trading routes.
-
Colossi of MemnonStop at the towering twin statues of Amenhotep III, still standing tall after thousands of years, guarding the Theban necropolis.
-
Temple of Medinat HabuEnjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Nile, where you can relax. After lunch, you'll visit Medinet Habu, a temple built by order of King Ramses III to commemorate his legacy after his death.
-
Valley of the Artisans (Deir el-Medina)Following this, you'll visit the remains of the ancient Workmen's Village in Deir el-Medina. This village was home to the artists, craftsmen, and workers who constructed and decorated the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
-
Valle Delle RegineNext, you'll visit the magnificent Valley of the Queens, where the tomb of the Great Queen Nefertari is located. The day concludes with a visit to the Tombs of the Nobles, which include over 400 tombs belonging to nobles. These royal tombs are adorned with cryptic passages from the Book of the Dead, meant to guide them through the afterlife.
