- Depart Placencia for a rural drive up the Placencia Peninsula Road to the Southern Highway, then through citrus orchards into the Maya Mountains and the Maya Skywalk. Stepping off a platform on the to whiz above the treetops in the Maya Mountains is exhilarating to say the least! Enjoy the panoramic view as you cross the South Stann Creek River 400 feet below! Maya Skywalk has the longest zip line in Belize with 7 lines and 11 decks. Follow up by tubing 2 miles down the South Stann Creek River. The best way to see wildlife in Belize is from the rivers, especially with a licensed guide who can show you the hard to spot wildlife luring in the jungle on the river banks. Relax and enjoy the sights on the slower parts of the river interspersed with the excitement of rushing over class 2 rapids in expedition style tubes. (pass by)
