Overview
Santiago’s best food isn’t found in restaurants designed for visitors, it’s in its markets. But with hundreds of stalls and regional dishes, it’s not always clear where to start. This tour cuts through that, taking you directly to the vendors and plates beloved by locals.
Over four hours and 12+ tastings, you’ll move through several of the city’s most important food hubs, experiencing the full range of Chilean cooking in one place. From hearty lunchtime staples and seasonal stews to fresh seafood and classic street snacks.
The experience celebrated Chilean's obsession with almuerzo, Chile’s main meal of the day, when markets are at their busiest and most authentic. With a knowledgeable local tastemaker guide, you’ll learn what to order, how dishes are prepared, and how to navigate these spaces with confidence.
This isn’t a curated restaurant tour. It’s a practical, in-depth introduction to Santiago’s food culture.

SantiagoOur Santiago food tour offers guests a culinary experience carefully curated food adventure, led by our team of Santiago tastemakers. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, and the limitations of street food vendors and local eateries mean we cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: Unsuitable for vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance, halal diets, and severe allergies as the number of tastings would be very limited. No pork diets, pescatarian and mild tree nut / peanut allergies are possible though some tastings do not have alternatives available and the menu would be more limited

SantiagoExperience Santiago’s lunchtime culture on a 4-hour food tour through the city’s historic market district. Chileans take almuerzo seriously, and you’ll see why as you explore Vega Central, Mercado Tirso de Molina, and the iconic Central Market with 12+ tastings along the way. Start with classics like empanadas and sopaipillas before moving into traditional dishes such as humitas, pastel de choclo, and porotos granados. As you go deeper into the markets, seafood takes centre stage with paila marina, fresh ceviche, and rich crab pie. Along the way, snack on local favourites and finish with mote con huesillo, Santiago’s iconic drink. This isn’t about fine dining, it’s a true introduction to how locals eat in the Chilean capital. Join our small group tour limited to 8 guests to discover the city’s food scene with the help of an expert local tastemaker guide.

SantiagoThe tour concludes after 3.5-4 hours. You'll leave not only full, but with a much deeper understanding of Santiago food culture and the confidence to continue eating your way through Chile.
