Itmad-ud-DaulaFinish with the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, widely known as the Baby Taj. Commissioned by Empress Nur Jahan for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg, a Persian nobleman and minister at Emperor Jahangir's court, this jewel-box mausoleum on the banks of the Yamuna was the first Mughal monument built entirely of white marble and the first to use pietra dura inlay on this scale, making it the direct architectural precursor to the Taj Mahal. It is quieter and far less crowded than the main monuments, and a favourite with photographers. This stop is optional.
