The term "Viharn" refers to an assembly hall in a Buddhist temple, while "Phra Mongkol Bophit" is the name of the Buddha statue it houses. The statue was relocated and preserved under various Thai kings, and experienced a series of restorations after incidents such as lightning strikes and fire damages.
